NYC Food Guy’s 1st Post: MY LAST MEAL
November 1, 2007
This is the start of the most delicious and glorious culinary journey the internet has ever seen.
My goal here is simple: Guide the masses to delicious and affordable food.I live in New York but will not be limited to it. I have roots in Queens and Long Island and fully plan on giving both locales their culinary props.
Like a heaping plate of nachos or cheese fries, let’s delve right in with a philosophical debate for the ages: YOUR LAST MEAL. What’s on the plate? Surprise me.
In the spirit of sharing, here’s a little taste of mine:
When Donovan’s Pub was still a Pub in Bayside, Queens not a “Grill & Tavern”, this bacon cheeseburger with fried onions was my top burger:
Baby Back Ribs from Georgia’s Eastside BBQ
Sundays are All You Can Eat Ribs there, check out my review for more info.
French Fries from Houston’s
BBQ & Buffalo Chicken slices from Joanne’s Pizza in Long Island
Half of a 14-inch sub from Wegman’s (NJ, PA, Upsate NY)
(14-inch White, Mayo, Spicy Mustard, Lettuce, Onions, Dill Pickles,
Sub Sauce, Turkey, Roast Beef, American & Swiss Cheese)
Spicy Enchilada Pork Taco from Hernandez Huaraches
at Red Hook Ball Fields
(Spicy Pork, Lettuce, Homemade Hot Sauce & Guacamole,
Queso Fresca, Sour Cream, Cilantro)
Peter Luger’s Cheeseburger with Fries & Fried Onions
Warm 5-nut Brownie Sundae From Houstons
Served with Sedutto Vanilla Ice Cream and Champagne Custard (the most expensive thing at Houston’s believe it or not). Check out that close up, that’s serious.
Banana Pudding from Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery
So that’s just a little taste of my last meal. As time progresses I’ll get more photos and add some more glory to the plate.
Let’s hear from you.
Happy Eating,
NYC Food Guy
