good: Weekend-Only Banana Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast

May 16, 2008

Is your mouth watering yet? If there weren’t so many great brunch spots on my to do list I wouldn’t feel guilty going back to good for their deliciously sweet and decadent Banana Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast ($12.75).

If you have a curious mind, you’re probably wondering how this dish breaks down and how rich it really is. Read on for those answers and a look at some crispy home fries, airy toasted almond pancakes, and a great way to upgrade the already delicious Pepper Jack & Bacon Club.

BOS & Lucky Sunday: Worst General Tso’s I’ve Ever Had

May 15, 2008

Why change it up when I know I’ve found the best? With food, trying a new version of an old favorite ends in disappointment at least 9 out of 10 times. After Zach at Midtown Lunch tested out China Gourmet’s General Tso’s on my recommendation, I decided to follow suit, trying one of his readers picks, BOS & Lucky Sunday. As soon as I removed the tiny container from the paper delivery bag, I knew this was trouble. It doesn’t look awful, but looks were deceiving. And don’t even get me started on the dumplings.

Taco Bell’s Cheesy Beefy Melt is a disaster

May 12, 2008

Cheesy Beefy Melt. Nothing misleading about that. Unless you’re eating at the Taco Bell in NYC’s Penn Station or watching the commercial below. Despite the absurdly cheesy (no pun intended) melted cheese equals love campaign, the advertisements were typically false, there was no thinking outside the bun. It looked nothing like the deliciously heart-stopping photo below. It was an absolute disaster.
