place is sooo gross. I went to the one in Flushing. It really is the type of place where I think you need to be into the culture of Korean food. Otherwise it is disgusting. Well put dude. I 2nd the motion to boycott this place. Also the wait time is SOO LONG!! I could have gone back home and cooked myself

2 million bucks in decoration and make it all sorta fast foodish? i don' get it... I like how old Bon Chon across the street use to be a hang out place where you could get Lychee soju and chill... sort of like a snack/lounge kinda place... i was hoping they would do the same since i'm not into mad for chicken...
Though I had kyochon in queens and i liked it better than bon chon....

@Esther: Bonchon (mad for chicken) across the street didn't go the fast food route and is much better than this so called Kyochon.

This place was horrible in my opinion. Everything was bad about it. And I agree with NYCFG regarding the space. As my friend put it, this place is like the Virgin America of korean fried chicken. unfortunately, they don't go well together.

I'm not sure when or why Kyochon and Bonchon both decided to go the fast food route. The ones in Flushing are both sit-down places, with a nice decor and table service.

This ktown opening has been anticipated for so long, like you said. Way to steer people away with too many confusing menu items!

With that said, my favorite Korean chicken vote still goes to Unidentified Flying Chickens in Jackson Heights.

Leave to to NYCFG to be the first to hit Kyochon. Thanks for the advice - think I'll wait a while before I check it out!

Very well written and as usual extremely helpful. I have to admit more than a little disappointment. I too have waited for KyoChon to open, and the last thing I want is "bad" fast food in an over-stimulated environment. Pity because the opportunity to create something interesting was apparently thrown away.

I might take a look the next time I walk but I'm now in no hurry. As for the hot sauce, I've eaten enough "brutal" Korean to go out of my way.

Thanks Lawrence. Well done.
