Ciao Spice! Made the stuffed pepper tonight! We loved it! We live in the boondocks and have no specialty spice stores nearby, so I used cayenne pepper. We served it with plain yogurt and golden raisins--as they say in Italy--molto buono! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this post, Spice Jonez'n. Though we haven't been formally introduced, I want to thank you for introducing the King of Ketchup to the glories of Turkish red pepper, and for procuring a few bags for him from your Turkish grocer (where exactly do you shop? Have car, will travel for Sumac!). Knowing how excited I get about unique ethnic spices, KofK recently gave me a bag of pepper and I'm very grateful. I cook a fair bit of Turkish cuisine at home, and this pepper is as good, if not better, than the one I bought in the Spice Market in Istanbul. So, thank you..and keep the recipes coming!

Spice Jonze'n...you are simply amazing. I particularly enjoy your wit and helpful hints! I am so glad you have taken your interest in food and photography and combined them in this creative venue. I look forward to future recipes and I will try each of them here at home. Bon Appetite'

Esther,

No need to be scared, this link has some good pointers:

http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/organics/Homecompost/

I use a large plastic storage container with a top that I have drilled holes into on all sides to provide enough air-flow and ventilation. This container works well in a small area, fire escape, small backyard, and also keeps out any unwanted guests.

Make sure when you start that you use a 50/50 mixture of brown and green material;
brown material= leaves, grass clippings, shredded newspaper
green materials= vegetable and fruit scraps

Start mixing it all together, add material as you produce it and mix occasionally and in a few months your compost pile should be ready to use in your garden.
