Oh man, Lawrence! I LOVED those Brussels sprouts (as well as everything else there...). Sad you didn't like them. Did you find your bucatini to be al dente, or really really al dente?

"A single ricotta and spinach-filled ravioli housing a single egg yolk" -- would that be a raviolus?

My God Lawrence,

You're testing my faith in God, Country, Marriage and every other institution other than culinary. You can call Meyer's and tell him your blog has won another convert. I will be at Maialino next week.

Well done. My experience of the restaurant was from the outside looking in—it brought to mind Delmore Schwartz's poem "Tired and Unhappy, You Think of Houses."

Charlotte and I were walking by, along Gramercy Park, the restaurant had just opened and as we walked by and look down on the bread station, the staff, a little idle, waved us in. Had I been with myself or we didn't have plans, in I would have went, if for nothing else but a plate of salami and breads at one of the blue & white checkered tablecloths.

Again, well, down with especially sumptuous photographs.
