keepmefed, do share the recipe with the rest of us jealous non-NYers!!! I had Wafels and Dinges earlier this month when I visited my sister, who lives in Park Slope. In fact, it was the first thing we did. I'm green with envy that she can have them every weekend....

OK. Deal, Next time I indulge in a cookie, will be at Jacques Torres. Will let you know what I think!

Carnegie Deli is expensive? Never been there, so wouldn't know. I've had the pignoli nut cookies at Veniero's (delicious). When I'm down there again, might give the cheesecake a try. Thanks for the tips.

Before Sunrise,

Definitely try that cookie. My brother (Lil NYC Food Guy) read in the NY Times that Jacques Torres' chocolate comes in disc-shape pieces thereby making the cookie layer upon thin layer of choclatey cookie goodness.

As crazy as it sounds, nothing will compare to Levain. I haven't eaten anything that comes close, especially when Levain's cookies are fresh out of the oven or still warm.

I personally don't go to Carnegie Deli because if I'm spending that kind of money on deli in NYC, I'm going to Katz's. Have you been there? I don't know about Carnegie's Cheesecake but I do know their pastrami sandwich is big enough for 3-4 people. If you want to try some great Italian cheesecake go over to Veniero's on 11th street off 1st Ave. Also pick up some pignoli nut cookies their, they're light and filled with almond paste.

I've been to Jacques Torres but have never bought anything for myself, will have to try that cookie, looks great!

Haven't had cookies anywhere else that compare. My cousin told me to go to Levain and haven't really tried any others since :)

Desserts in NYC? Not my forte as I don't go out for dessert usually, but I read a review on the Carnegie Deli cheesecake and have been wanting to try it ever since. Ever been there? Ever had the cheesecake?

I live here in NYC but originally from Brazil.

Before Sunshine,

That's funny, my favorite is the chocolate chip walnut as well, far and away, none of the others come close in my opinion. I've had every style numerous times and I think I have to give the chocolate chocolate chip my "2nd best" title just because its such death by chocolate. After that its Chocolate Peanut Butter and Oatmeal raisin last. Have you had any cookies anywhere else that even remotely compare? Check out my Jacques Torres post if you're interested in trying an different but delicious cookie thats right down the block from Levain. Where are you from?

What are some of your other favorite desserts in NYC?

Danny,

Free Toppings???!?!? I've never gotten any of those. I think the next stop is the Wafel of Massive Deliciousness, one wafel with all the dinges. How you been dude? Any exciting eats of late? We still have to do Flushing, it's been talked about for way too long.

Good to hear the Summer was nice. Plenty of food and drinks on my end as well. Trying to catch up with posting some over the past few weeks. Had a few amazing meals and then others which weren't so amazing. Looking forward to the fall with the World Brewfest, NYC Wine and Food Festival and all the new restaurants opening. Keep eating.
