i live near yuca but i never thought of going. thanks for the post. plantains for breakfast? yummmmm. and your neighbors shared them with you? wow. also i saw they have arepas with serrano ham on the menu, sounds deliriously good!

Phil, I venture to the outerboroughs when I can but my knowledge isn't as strong as the city so if you have any recommendations, by all means pass them by. Thanks. Bill, My top iced coffee is from the Orange Mud Trucks and it's called a Mud Mocha. It features iced coffee and Ghirardelli chocolate syrup. You can find the trucks on Christopher Street & 7th Ave and at Astor Place & 4th Ave. They also serve it at their shop Mudspot on 9th street near 2nd Ave. Stevenp, Sounds good man. Bonelick is right near Good correct? I think I walked by when I reviewed Good's Banana Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast, which was amazing. That deal at Bonelick sounds awesome though, thanks for the heads up.

Meh. For a much better brunch deal, check out Bonelick Park, central village (Greenwich at 7th Ave, by 11th St., next to Two Boots). $15 or so gets you the beef ribs brunch with 2 large & tasty beef ribs (look better than the steak!), a large serving of eggs, potatoes au gratin, and UNLIMITED drinks (mimosas/bloody marys/frozen margaritas). Pulled pork with eggs and cheese grits is $1-2 less. Other brunch options are fried oysters with eggs and grits, turkey sausage & gravy on english muffins with eggs, etc., all $13-16 and AYCD.

Cafe La Fortuna on 71st b/t Columbus & Central Park West serves iced cappuccino with cappuccino ices in it too. I haven’t had it but I hear its good.

I like where your head is at NYCFG. I’m a big iced coffee kind of guy myself. There is actually a coffee shop down in the east village that makes their ice cubes for their iced coffee out of coffee. This means that once you finish your iced coffee and you have that ice sitting there, you wait for it to melt and it’s more coffee. Quite genius if you ask me. Sorry I don’t have the name but will write it down next time I go by.
