Thanks for the kind words. You know your stuff, glad to hear I wasn't over enthusiastic about the pulled pork. Did you have Big Bob Gibson?

I did this on Sunday and Baker's BBQ had an amazing St. Louis style ribs. Fall off the bone goodness with some spicy slaw. Wished they were in NYC and not in Texas.

Hey NYCFG,

Glad you liked my review, I completely agree with you about Big Bob's. Life changing BBQ if you ask me. too bad you didn't enjoy Ed Mitchell's stuff at the Pit. I found it very unique, the textures tastes, aroma's etc. were all very different. Some people I've talked to compared it to tuna fish. I personally enjoyed it with the cracklin's on it (skin). While they were a little hard to chew they offered an intense smokiness as well as a crunch to the sandwich. Wasn't turned off by eating every part of the pig either. However, Big Bob's won me over for the day.

On another note, check out the NYC Food and Wine festival website, the schedule was just announced and tickets go on sale Monday.

Take care,
AG

Goodness. I went on Sunday but could not handle the lines or the heat. I had a pulled pork sandwich though. I really did want to try the brisket at salt licks. The line was just to long though. This blog entry is fantastic. You should be a food critic professionally.

Hey Lawrence,

Great write up and it was cool to meet both you and your brother at the block party. Now that writeups for the bbq fest is all over the place, I keep hearing about the great skin at Ed Mitchell's and then how they only gave it to VIPs who asked. Kinda makes me wonder...

Also waiting in the regular line in the sun completely changes ones perspective on the food... I think all the food would have been better if my body was not screaming for shade. haha. Oh well.
