I tried the 53rd ST Halal guys, I went there with high expectations but it was no better than any of other Halal places in Manhattan. If you want to experience a Halal Cart that raises the bar to a level of art, you have to go to Astoria, the guys at Falafel King of Astoria make a phenomenal chicken and rice plate and have other excellent dishes.
Its near the N train station in Astoria in front of a supermarket.

Dear New York Food Guy,
My husband and I are both big fans of your site for your endless search for the best NYC has to offer! I recently launched my own on-line cookie company named Alexandra's Cookie Dreams (www.alexandrascookiedreams.com) selling gourmet cookie gifts nationwide. As former New York City school teacher (I moved to Austin Texas last year for my husbands job), and to stay connected to children's education, Alexandra's Cookie Dreams donates a portion of all profits to Austin and New York City public schools. I would like to send you a sampling of our cookies for you to try.
Thank you,
Alexandra
